Make a wish!

Do wishes come true? Many people believe it does. Some blow off candles and make a wish. Some throw coins in a fountain before doing so. Some people wish by planning; they think about the future and determine what they want accomplished. Many pray before they do.
I wish and then plan; and this morning while trying to review progress made in the last month, I noticed something quite remarkable, everything I wrote down as my wish, I have accomplished; all of them or have made tremendous progress to achieving those not completed yet.

That was mind-boggling! The things I wrote down that I would do for the month, I have done all of them! I then went back in time since I started using the WhatsApp page to document my plans to check out all the things I wished for. The same story: I have got them all!

I could see a clear correlation between the things I wished for & wrote down and my achievements. That is no wonder because I have experienced the manifestation of things I wished & wrote down in the past.

After our wedding, Vivien & I carried out an exercise. We got a plain piece of paper, titled it 'Make a wish', numbered it 1 to 5, and ruled it across for each person to make 5 wishes. In that exercise, we made 10 wishes. We then did a ranking of the wishes, and we set to work. Some years ago, we saw that list & we had a good laugh at how ambitious we were. Our total income then was about N20,000 monthly, but we had all sorts of wishes, in our list. Everything we had on that list were the things we needed, the things we believed would make our life great! Do you know the remarkable thing about that list? We got all of them. As I write this, I have huge goosebumps! Everything on that list we have got & much, much more! In the years since then, we have had plenty of 'make a wish' sessions where we made wishes & wrote them down.

So this is how this has worked for me & perhaps you can draw a cue.

If there is anything I know that would make my life, my family's & others' better, I put it on my list. So this includes my needs & good-to-have things. I don't add fantasies. That means I won't add owning a private jet to my list now, but that may not be a fantasy to you, so you may add to yours! To make my list, I must believe in my heart & soul that I need that thing.
Then, I sort the list based on importance.
I do a 2nd sort based on urgency and finally, based on my ability (present or potential) to do.
So I have short-term and long-term wishes - goals. When we decided to change homes, it took us about 5 years to achieve. Some things take a day or less.

After the list is consolidated, we get to work. We pray about the things we have on our list. Then we zero our minds & concentrate on doing only the things on our list. If what appeals to us or is proposed will not help us meet our goals, as found in our goals, we will NOT do it! This strict standard of discipline & self-control is based on a principle about discipline, self-control and focus found in the Bible*.

There is hardly anything we own; that I have become or done that was not 1st on my list. Nothing. With this renewed insight, I immediately took some time off to write down all the things I wish for in the remainder of 2023 & 2024. I have also asked all family members to write down theirs. I hope you will do the same!

Break your schedule if you have to & make a good stretch of time available.  Find a quiet place & make yourself comfortable.
Think about things you really need. Things that will make your life great & soft. Don't restrict yourself. Be generous! Write them down. Get to work & see your wishes come true.

One of the greatest joys you can have in this life is to dream of something good & see it come true. To plan far into the future & see those things play out. If you write it down, there is a great chance it will come true. Allow yourself to flow, dream, and make sure you really need it. Then, write it down & see your wishes come true.

  3. Thank you so much K.W. I can identify passionately with this piece. All the lists I made after my university days were realistic based on needs and ability. Thank you as I always look forward to more writeups.

  4. Thank you brother K.W.. I can relate to the writeup because all my lists were prioritized and were realistic based on my needs and ability to achieve them. We oft take them for granted as we achieve them with Jah's help. These writeup help me to always thank Jah for helping me to achieve them, and in most cases, before the set time. Thank and thank Jah for his loyal love
